A bit of History

The group started out in the 1990’s as a casual association of like minded Mogan Owners living in South East Queensland who came together to “Share the Passion of their Morgans“.

A tradition was built on regular annual events such as Michael Moore’s infamous Hot Chilli Run, the Christmas in July weekend, All British Day and Macleans Bridge.

The first official meeting of Morgan Owners Queensland was 25th May 2008 at the home of Brian Hollins and Helen Stepbens, with the club incorporating on 6th June 2008.

The clubs incorporation was prompted by the requirement to be covered in the case of litigation relating to public liability and personal liability of MOQ office bearers and members. We, as a club, hold Public Liability cover of $10,000,000.00, Associations Liability cover and Voluntary Workers Insurance.

Our intention is to be the most dynamic Morgan Owners club, maintaining a calendar of exciting and varied Morgan related events.

MEMBERSHIP & EVENTS

FOR LOCAL, INTERSTATE & OVERSEAS MEMBERS

Membership

MOQ commenced with 7 members and currently has in excess of 40 members. Club membership is extended to all Morgan owners and enthusiasts and draws members from Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast and surrounding areas of South East Queensland, as well as New South Wales and Victoria. Our club caters for all things related to the Morgan motor vehicle. We also have members who do not own a Morgan (yet) but do love the Morgan and its members. We are a very welcoming and warm group of enthusiasts.

Events and Runs

Morgan runs are held approximately once every 4 to 6 weeks and club meetings are held quarterly on the outings.

Members are encouraged to volunteer and organise Morgan driving days and events. To do this, simply contact the Events Co-ordinator to set the date in the calendar and to supply information on your Morgan event forwarded to club members.

QUEENSLAND CONCESSIONAL REGISTRATION

GREATLY REDUCED REGISTRATION AND INSURANCE COSTS

As a properly constituted car club in Queensland MOQ members qualify for Queensland Concessional Registration. If your Morgan is more than 30 years old you can qualify for greatly reduced registration and insurance costs. Please note, should you take advantage of the Special Interest Vehicle Scheme, your Morgan can be used for club runs and other events hosted by properly constituted car clubs throughout Australia.
